Jobs to Win Back the White House (apply online)

Grassroots Campaigns, Inc. is currently interviewing candidates nationwide for positions as Canvass Directors, Assistant Directors, Field Organizers and Field Manager positions. To apply, fill out our online application.

Check out the ongoing canvass director job description.

Candidates will also have the opportunity to work on the MoveOn.Org Voter Registration Project.

The path to victory in 2008 could come down to just a few thousand votes, and growing our electorate and turning them out to the polls could make that difference. So Grassroots Campaigns is teaming up with MoveOn.org Political Action to expand the 2008 voting base. We’ve opened dozens of offices in 12 key swing states to register tens of thousands of 18 to 29 year olds before the voter registration deadlines. Hundreds of canvassers will hit the streets to register these voters who could make the difference in an Obama win.

Staff Profile : Alex Beauchamp
Carleton College '06
Started: Election Field Staff, DNC and MoveOn.org (June '06 - Nov. '06)
Current Position: Lead Organizer, Progressive Voter Network (Nov. '06 - present)

During my last couple of terms at Carleton College, I began to think seriously about campaigning as a career. I’d been interning for Amy Klobuchar’s campaign for US Senate in Minnesota for around nine months, working closely with a couple of her field organizers to plan campaign events and recruit and train volunteers. The more field work I did, the more I realized how effective on the ground organizing is, and I began to look for ways to continue this type of work after graduation.

Following graduation in June of 2006, I accepted a two-part position with Grassroots Campaigns as an Election Field Organizer. I started as an assistant director in a fundraising campaign office for the Democratic National Committee. I was part of a national effort that raised millions of dollars to give the Democrats the strength they needed to take back Congress.

When fall rolled around, I became an organizer on the Call for Change campaign with MoveOn.org Political Action’s ground-breaking get out the vote campaign. A week into that campaign I had the opportunity to move to Boulder, Colorado and become the Lead Organizer in that office. I managed two organizers, and with them, recruited and trained hundreds of volunteers to get out the vote and make sure that Democrats took back both houses of Congress.

Since the 2006 elections, I have been working as a Lead Organizer with the Progressive Voter Network, creating a network of active citizens who will hold their legislators accountable in between elections and work to take back the White House this fall..
