CLIENTS: GCI & MoveOn.org Political Action work together to take back Congress in 2006- and continue to build progressive organizing across the country
“George Bush and his entire right-wing team from Congress down to the state legislatures are taking our country in the wrong direction. Angering the world. Hurting our alliances. Decreasing our security. Threatening our air and water. Enriching the already wealthy while depriving citizens of decent wages and health care. Over-stretching our military. Threatening international stability with their doctrine of pre-emptive war. Undermining faith in government by misleading the public and manipulating the truth. Going to war under false pretenses. We all respect the Presidency, but not the ideological extremists who have captured it. This is not the America we believe in…we hope to make a difference. It's an emergency.”

Political Action and Grassroots Campaigns have built a network of
local activists that changed the political landscape of the country.
Through Operation Democracy and Call for
Change - with the incredible work of more than a hundred thousand
MoveOn members - we took back Congress and created a "change
election" in 2006!
We
are working together now to continue Operation Democracy –
MoveOn members working together at the local level. Organizing staff
are helping take activism from online to on-the-ground, building
a network of grassroots leaders and getting media coverage for key
issues. We are strengthening and developing the amazing local volunteers
who participated in Call for Change in 2006 and continue to be work
to hold our elected officials accountable through Operation Democracy.
We'll
continue working on local events– town hall meetings, bake
sales, vigils, and petition drives - to get local media coverage.
We want to make sure that Democrats support progressive changes
and take full advantage of their new leadership in the House and
Senate.
Grassroots
Campaigns is placing organizers in communities across the country
to support these local groups of MoveOn members. These networks
of supportive, hard-working volunteers will be an integral part
of our plan to Take Back the White House and maintain our Majorities
in Congress this November!
